of the Workshop on Institutionalization of AP-MCSTA Mechanism
in Malaysia |

| In
order to discuss and promote the substantial steps for institutionalization
of AP-MCSTA Mechanism, a Workshop was organized by the AP-MCSTA
Secretariat at Mines Beach Resort & Spa, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
from 16 to 20 December 2002, which was hosted by the National
Space Agency of Malaysia. Senior Officials from National Space
Agencies, Government bodies / Organizations from Bangladesh,
Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea,
Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Philippine, Thailand, UN/ESCAP,
concerned with the activities relating to space science and
space technology, participated in the Workshop as well as the
Workshop was formally declared open by the Honorable Dato’
Seri Law Hieng Ding, Minister of Science, Technology and the
Environment of Malaysia, on behalf of the Government of Malaysia.
