From 2000 to 2005, the Secretariat of Asia-Pacific Multilateral Cooperation in
Space
Technology and Applications (AP-MCSTA) and China National Space
Administration (CNSA), in cooperation with United Nations Office for Outer
Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and/or United Nations Economic and Social Commission for
Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), have jointly organized more than five training
programs in space technology and its applications in China. Almost 250
participants from about 30 countries have attended these training programs.
The Secretariat of AP-MCSTA, in cooperation with the CNSA and UNESCAP, is
planning to organize the Sixth Training Course on Remote Sensing and Its
Applications for Asian countries, especially for Central Asian countries in
Beijing, China, from September 17 to 24, 2006. This one-week training course
will be sponsored by CNSA and UNESCAP, and hosted by the Academy of
Opto-Electronics (AOE),the Chinese Academy of Sciences . About 15 participants
from Asian countries, especially from Central Asian countries will be invited
to take part in this course. Instructors from the AOE as well as from other
institutes will share their expertise with the participants at this course.
